On August 29, 2024, the Management Development
and Productivity Institute (MDPI) had the honor of hosting the Honorable
Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Hon. Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, during
his official visit to the Institute. Accompanied by the Ministry’s Technical
Advisor, Hon. Bright Wireko-Brobbey, the minister’s visit aimed at inspecting
the ongoing construction of MDPI’s new office building at Okponglo, East Legon,
Accra.
In a significant stride toward fostering international collaboration, a two-member delegation from the Management Development and Productivity Institute (MDPI) in Ghana, comprising Director General, Madam Bernice Adjei, and Business Development Manager, Mr. Eric Sarfo Danquah, recently completed a successful visit to The Gambia.
Ghana has performed
creditably in the 2024 IMD World Competitiveness Ranking, scoring high in some
of the 15 indicators of respondents of the executive opinion survey, the first time
of the country’s inclusion. The IMD World Competitiveness Ranking (WCR) is a renowned tool for
assessing the competitiveness of economies worldwide.
With
support from German Cooperation, 272 Ghanaian small and medium-sized
enterprises (SMEs) have benefited from the International Labour Organization’s
(ILO) Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE) programme,
organized by MDPI.
PAN AFRICAN PRODUCTIVITY ASSOCIATION (PAPA)
The Adoption in 2015 of the African Union Agenda 2063 – “The Africa We Want”, provides a robust and shared strategic framework for the socio-economic transformation of the African Continent over the next 40 years and the realisation of the 21st Century as the African Century. The Agenda 2063 sets a strategic framework for inclusive growth and sustainable development that builds upon Africa’s recent positive performance in the economic, social and political fields to put the continent on a new positive trajectory of growth, peace and prosperity.

MDPI TRAINING IN THE SHEA INDUSTRY, TAMALE
The Management Development & Productivity Institute (SCORE Trainers) won a contract to train and coach ten enterprises in the shea industry in tamale as part of the Productivity Ecosystem for Decent Work (PE4DW).
Productivity Ecosystems for Decent Work (PE4DW) is a global multi-country programme with operations in Ghana, South Africa and Vietnam. The governments of Switzerland and Norway through the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) respectively fund it.
