JOB GRADE: DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH AND PRODUCTIVITY
JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for the overall management of all research related assignments for the development of management systems and human resource capacity in client institutions as well as publications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inputs into the formulation and implementation of policies, guidelines and strategies on national productivity improvement;
- Identifies possible areas of research and facilitates the conduct of research on productivity improvement, and ensures proper compilation of field reports;
- Ensures the development of monitoring, evaluation and reporting systems that include appropriate indicators, baseline data, targets and a plan to evaluate performance and to assess the impact of training programmes of the Institute;
- Liaises with clients, Public officials and special interest groups to discuss, interpret, and review research, studies, findings and recommendations.
- Constitutes team to conduct survey for the purpose of submitting research outcomes for clients and publication among others;
- Collaborates with other Directorates to advance the objectives of MDPI.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE)
- A minimum of Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Marketing, Humanities or Social Sciences from a recognized University or an equivalent professional qualification from recognized institution.
- Must have a minimum of nine (9) year post qualification working experience in developing Research and Productivity Improvement;
- Must be Successful in a competitive selection process (i.e. examination/interview) conducted by the PSC

2. DIRECTOR, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
JOB GRADE: DIRECTOR, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
JOB PURPOSE
To provide strategic leadership in developing the business potentials and promoting the activities of the Institute among the business community, NGOs and development partners for the achievement of the objectives of the MDPI.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identifies potential business clients for the promotion of the Institute’s activities.
- Leads in the development and implementation of the business plans and strategies of the Institute;
- Facilitate the organization of promotional events for the institute;
- Initiates and conducts clients’ outreach programmes;
- Initiate the development of promotional materials for the Institute;
- Leads the development of proposal for generating funding support for the programmes and activities of the Institute; among others
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE)
- A minimum of Master’s Degree in Marketing or its equivalent from a recognized University. A post-graduate qualification in Mass Communication is an added advantage.
- Not less than nine (9) years post-qualification relevant working experience in a public or private sector, two (2) years of which must have been in a Senior Management position.
- Must be successful in a competitive selection interview conducted by the Public Services Commission.

JOB PURPOSE: To coordinate, facilitate and provide advisory services to course participants and clients in the public and private sectors in order to equip them with relevant knowledge and skills to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the performance of their duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares course materials for teaching and workshop facilitation;
- Facilitates course participants’ subjects in their specialized fields relevant to the needs of their institutions;
- Collects, analyses and produces draft consultancy report;
- Designs data collection instruments for field work;
- Assists in analyzing training needs and develops training modules based on the identified gaps;
- Provides input into the preparation of the strategic related plans of the Institute; among others
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE)
- A minimum of Masters’ Degree in a specialized discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of five (5) years post qualification relevant working experience in Management Consultancy, Research or Productivity Improvement;
- Being a certified member, in Good Standing, of a recognized professional body would be an advantage; and
- Must be successful in a competitive selection process (i.e., examination/interview)

4. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT I
JOB GRADE: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT I
JOB PURPOSE: To provide frontline operational support for achieving the objectives of the administration and human resource management section of the Institute.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Undertakes registration and distribution of correspondences;
- Opens and closes personnel and project files at the Institute;
- Maintains the personal and project files of staff in the Institute;
- Provides support for handling matters relating to performance appraisal;
- Processes applications for leaves, conversions, upgrading, promotions etc.;
- Submits draft analyses of petitions and complaints to the Head of the Sub – section;
- Keeps proper custody of official records and correspondence of staff; and
- Submits periodic reports.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT (QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE)
- Must possess a Degree in Public Administration/Human Resource Management from a recognized Institution;
- A minimum of one (1) year post qualification relevant work experience in a reputable public or private sector organization;
- Must have completed the statutory National Service and possess a certificate to that effect;
- Must pass a competitive selection interview conducted by MDPI Management, in consultation with the Governing Board.

5. ASSISTANT IT MANAGER
GRADE: ASSISTANT IT MANAGER
JOB PURPOSE: To provide frontline ICT support services in the IT Unit.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts research on all IT issues to support the design and administration of IT projects of the Institute;
- Collects and collates data for the design and development of procedures, standards and guidelines to support the implementation of IT systems within the organization;
- Provides data to support the development of IT short and long term operational plans for the Institute;
- Undertakes the installation / implementation, operation, repair/ upgrade/enhancement and the routine maintenance of IT equipment, systems and resources of the Unit; and
- Collates data for the development of annual performance report of the IT unit.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE)
- Must possess a minimum of a Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or in a specialized subject area(s) or field(s) from a recognized tertiary institution. OR Relevant professional qualification in the specialized subject area(s) or field(s) (Possession of both will be an advantage);
- Must have completed one-year mandatory National Service; and
- Must be successful in a competitive selection process conducted by MDPI.

6. DRIVER MECHANIC
JOB GRADE: DRIVER MECHANIC
JOB PURPOSE
To ensure timely and safe conveyance of officials, goods and equipment to and from designated destinations as well ensure road worthiness of assigned vehicles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conveys officials, goods and equipment to and from designated destinations;
- Performs daily pre-trip and post- trip vehicle inspections; and minor maintenance tasks on assigned vehicles;
- Ensures periodic vehicle maintenance is completed and reported;
- Completes daily vehicle log books;
- Presents safety briefing to passengers prior to each trip departure; and
- Ensures prompt reporting of faults.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATION EXPERIENCE)
For Direct Entry
- A minimum of Senior High school certificate;
- A certificate from an accredited driving institute;
- A valid driving license not below “B” class shall be eligible for consideration;
- A minimum of one year working experience;

7. ASSISTANT PROCUREMENT MANAGER
JOB GRADE: ASSISTANT PROCUREMENT MANAGER
JOB PURPOSE
Provide technical assistance for effective management of procurement processes using legally established professional procurement standards and procedure.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collects data for the preparation of annual budget and procurement plan;
- Drafts standard Tender Documents for tendering processes;
- Assists in inspection and testing of goods supplied by suppliers to the institute;
- Prepares calls for tender and follow-up procedure in tendering processes;
- Collects data for the preparation of reports on procurement activities;
- Keeps records of stock levels to ensure its availability for operational requirements; and
- Performs any other duties that may be assigned.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT (QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE)
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management or in a relevant discipline;
- Being a member of a professional body such as Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Institute for Supply Management (ISM) is an advantage;
- Must have completed one-year mandatory National Service; and
- Must be successful in a competitive selection process conducted by the Institute.

JOB GRADE: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER II
JOB PURPOSE
To provide operational support in business development for the achievement of the objectives of the Institute
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collates inputs for the development and implementation of the business plans and strategies of the Institute;
- Collates data for the development of proposal for funding of the activities of the Institute;
- Collates data for the preparation of annual and other periodic reports of the Institute;
- Responds to the client queries regarding the products and services of the Institute;
- Collates data on the identification of new business opportunities;
- Collates data on product and service deficiencies and make recommendations for redress; and
- Supervises and appraises the performance of subordinate staff.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE)
- A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Communication or a related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution;
- A minimum of one (1) year post qualification relevant work experience in a reputable organization;
- Must have completed the statutory National Service and have a certificate to that effect; and
- Must pass a competitive selection interview conducted by the Institute in collaboration with the Public Services Commission.

9. HR OFFICER GRADE I
JOB GRADE: HR OFFICER GRADE I
JOB PURPOSE: To provide frontline support in the management of Human Resource for the achievement of the objectives of Institute.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collates materials on human resource programs and activities;
- Undertakes the update of records on personnel’s pension, social security and other staff welfare matters;
- Facilitates the organization of meetings of HRM issues and produce appropriate minutes and reports;
- Collates data for the preparation of annual and other periodic reports of the unit;
- Collates periodic reports of the department;
- Records data for organizing payment structures and addressing salary concerns;
- Compiles data for updating Human Resource Management Information systems;
- Prepares and organizes work schedules in line with specified responsibilities;
- Participates in industrial relations meetings and explains the industrial matters to the understanding of the staff; and
- Keeps accurate data of every appointment dates, recruitments and salaries to facilitate accessibility to a personnel’s employment history.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIECE):
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree Human Resource Management or related field from an accredited tertiary organization;
- A minimum of one (1) year post-qualification relevant work experience in reputable organization OR
- Must have completed one-year mandatory National Service; and
- Must pass a competitive selection interview conducted by MDPI in collaboration with the Public Services Commission.
10. TRAINING SERVICES OFFICER GRADE I
Job Summary: Assists in ensuring the efficient planning, organization, implementation and control of all training programmes of the Institute.
Qualification
A first degree from a recognized University in Education, or the Social Sciences.
Experience
A post qualification relevant working experience of not less than two (2) years.
11. LIBRARY OFFICER GRADE II
Job Summary
Assists in organizing, developing and maintaining a systematic collection of books, periodicals and other recorded materials and makes them available to Library users.
Assists in keeping an archive of all documents produced in the Institute (Feasibility Studies, Proposals, Handouts, etc.).
Qualification
A Degree in Library Studies from a recognized University; or a professional qualification in Librarianship (Final A.L.A.)
Experience
A post-qualification relevant working experience of not less than two (2) years.
