MDPI Engages Controller and Accountant-General's Department on National Productivity Framework

The Management Development and Productivity Institute (MDPI) has held a strategic engagement with the Controller and Accountant-General's Department (CAGD) as part of its ongoing stakeholder consultation process toward the development and implementation of Ghana's National Productivity Framework.

The engagement brought together officials from both institutions to deliberate on the critical role of productivity enhancement in improving public sector performance, strengthening service delivery, promoting accountability, and driving national economic growth. Discussions centered on aligning institutional priorities with the objectives of the National Productivity Framework, which seeks to foster efficiency, effectiveness, innovation, and value creation across all sectors of the economy.

Speaking during the engagement, Prof. Elijah Yendaw, Director-General of MDPI, underscored the importance of cultivating a productivity-oriented culture within public institutions as a foundation for sustainable national development. He explained that the National Productivity Framework is designed to provide a comprehensive mechanism for measuring, monitoring, and enhancing productivity at both organizational and national levels.

Officials from the Controller and Accountant-General's Department welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting measures aimed at improving public sector efficiency and performance. They acknowledged the importance of productivity as a key driver of institutional effectiveness and national development.

MDPI reiterated its commitment to working closely with stakeholders across government, the private sector, academia, and civil society to ensure the successful implementation of the National Productivity Framework. The Institute expressed confidence that the framework will serve as a transformative tool for enhancing productivity, strengthening national competitiveness, and promoting sustainable socio-economic development in Ghana.

The engagement forms part of a broader nationwide consultation exercise being undertaken by MDPI to solicit stakeholder input, build consensus, and foster ownership among key institutions ahead of the official rollout of the National Productivity Framework.
