MDPI Engages National Identification Authority to Advance Ghana’s National Productivity Framework

The Management Development and Productivity Institute (MDPI) has intensified efforts to develop Ghana’s National Productivity Framework through strategic engagements with key national stakeholders. As part of this process, the Director-General of MDPI, Professor Elijah Yendaw, together with his team, held a high-level engagement with the National Identification Authority (NIA).

The engagement forms part of a broader initiative aimed at strengthening Ghana’s productivity measurement systems and ensuring that economic performance is more effectively linked to remuneration across key sectors.

The proposed National Productivity Framework seeks to address the long-standing gap between productivity and pay by introducing standardized metrics for measuring labour productivity, capital efficiency, and overall economic performance. By establishing a data-driven approach, the framework is expected to provide a more objective basis for wage determination, enhance transparency, and promote performance-based compensation systems.

During the engagement, both MDPI and the NIA underscored the importance of robust data systems in driving the success of the framework. The NIA’s role in providing reliable identification and population data was highlighted as critical to improving the accuracy and integrity of productivity measurement across sectors.

The discussions also emphasized the need for strong institutional collaboration and active stakeholder engagement. These elements were identified as essential to ensuring the framework is widely accepted, effectively implemented, and sustainable over the long term.

The ongoing stakeholder consultations reflect MDPI’s commitment to building a comprehensive and inclusive productivity framework that aligns with national development priorities. When fully implemented, the framework is expected to support data-driven policymaking, fair remuneration systems, and improved economic performance in Ghana.
