The Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, the Right Honorable Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, on the 11th of June 2025, welcomed Professor Elijah Yendaw, Director General of the Management Development and Productivity Institute (MDPI), and his delegation to discuss strategies for enhancing productivity and national development.

The Director General of the Management Development and Productivity Institute (MDPI), Prof. Elijah Yendaw, led by the Hon. Dr. Abdul Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, Minister of Labour, Jobs, and Employment, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Ato Forson. The meeting, held at the Finance Ministry, focused on key developmental issues, including the completion of MDPI’s office space and potential future collaborations to enhance the institute’s capacity.

Elijah Yendaw (Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor at the Department of Governance and Development Management (DGDM) and the Centre for Migration and Security Studies (CMSS), Faculty of Public Policy and Governance (FPPG), Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS), Wa, Ghana. Prof. Elijah Yendaw is a member (commissioner) of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC).
The Management Development and Productivity Institute (MDPI) had the honour of hosting the Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment (MLJE), Hon. Dr. Abdul Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, on March 18, 2025, as part of his familiarization tour of key institutions under the Ministry. Accompanying the Hon. The Management Development and Productivity Institute (MDPI), backed by German Cooperation, has initiated training for 109 Ghanaian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as part of the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE) initiative. This training is designed to boost productivity and resource efficiency among SMEs, ultimately fostering job creation and enhancing workplace conditions.
